What are your hours of operation? top

Verde Home is open from 10:00 to 6:00 Monday through Friday and from 11:00 to 4:00 on Saturday. We are closed on Sundays. If you are not able to make it to our showroom during normal business hours give us a call and we will see if we can find a time that will work with you.

    Where are you located? top

We are located in the newly renovated Brickworks complex at the intersection of Howell Mill Rd and Marietta St on Atlanta's growing westside. The physical address is 1000 Marietta St, Ste 244, Atlanta GA 30318. Click here for Google directions to our showroom.

If I don't live in Atlanta can I still shop with you? top

Sure you can. Most small items (under 150lbs) can be shipped directly to your home or office using UPS or FEDEX (we can even bill the shipping to your own account if you have one). Larger items like furniture can be shipped to a local delivery service (or freight forwarder) in your town who can take receipt of the item on a loading dock and then schedule a time to deliver it. If you do not know of a forwarder in your area we would be happy to do a little research to see what we can find.

How do I determine the ideal rug size? top

There are a few rules of thumb when looking at rugs:

      • "All on or All off" - In larger rooms were space allows you will generally want to employ the all on or all off rule. This means that you either want all your furniture to sit on the rug an have the rug define the seating group OR you will have a smaller piece which sits in the middle of the group with only accent pieces (such as a coffee table) on it.

      • "The Standard Dining Room" - In general, most dining room tables will require a 9x12 rug in order that the table can sit on it and the chairs may pull out and remain on the rug. That being said, homes keep getting bigger and standard dinning rooms seem to be disappearing so it may be best to give us a call or send us a picture of your space. If you live in an area we can get to we would be happy to set up a time to come out and see your space to make a recommendation.

      • "Don't Smother those Nice Floors" - Clients often want to fill a space with rugs, which can be very nice. However leaving a few feet all the way around a rug will not only show off your beautiful floors but also serve as a visual ground for the rug and the room. This gives the eye a break and adds context to the rug, much like framing a picture. In a smaller room 1 foot all the way around may be plenty. As the room gets larger you will want to increase this gap to 2 or 3 feet.

What is your return policy? top

If you buy something off our floor and it just doesn't work out like you thought it would, we will gladly take it back within 5 days of purchase (assuming no damage has occurred) for a full refund (unless marked as "sales final" or purchased during a sale). Unfortunately we can not accept returns or offer refunds on any custom ordered pieces once they have been confirmed and production has begun.

Do you work with the trade (design professionals)? top

Yes we do. We offer a trade discount to any design professionals with proper trade credentials (generally a valid tax id and business license). If you would like to register as a trade professional with us please contact Paul Baird.

Can the furniture be customized? top

Yes and No. All of our upholstery is completely customizable. If you need the dimensions altered or a skirt added for example, just drop us a line and we will get you a quote on it as soon as we can.

What are the standard lead times on orders? top

Right now our lead times are run as follows:

      • Rugs: many of our rugs are in stock and can be delivered in 2 weeks or less (often right off the floor). Those pieces that need to be made can generally be woven to order in about 16 weeks once we have a confirmed design and coloration. For custom work we often recommend that you have a small 2x2 strike off made in order to see the colors and design prior to construction of the final piece. These samples can most often be made in 3 to 6 weeks at a cost of about $200.

      • Upholstery: the lead times on upholstery will vary depending on the availability of the upholstery fabric chosen. If the fabric is in stock a piece may be shipped in as little as 6 weeks. If the fabric is backordered the lead time will be between 10 to 12 weeks. We will often quote the later just to be safe but if time is of the essence, let us know and we will try to guide your fabric selection to ensure you get your order as soon as possible.

      • Furniture: we attempt to source our hardwood furniture as close to our home base as possible. As a result we have several lines of furniture which can be made to order in 6 weeks or less. For those that can not be made locally, the lead time is generally about 10 weeks.

I noticed the 1% for the Planet logo on your site, what is this? top

1% for the planet is a non profit organization dedicated to using market forces to drive positive environmental change by inspiring companies to give. As a member Verde Home has pledged to give 1% of our gross revenues to environmental organization and charities that have been approved by 1% for the planet.

Do you use natural dyes in your rugs? top

The quick answer is no, not in all our rugs. In the last few years the term natural or vegetable dye has mistakenly been attached to rugs as a mark of quality. While it is true that many naturally dyed rugs are beautiful the use of natural dye has its drawbacks. Natural dyes do not readily bond with wool fibers and require a chemical mordant to assist as a bonding agent. Even with this, the dye must be flooded into the fiber making tonal variation difficult to control and producing an excess of polluted water as runoff. Most of our rugs use "low impact" chemical dyes which are designed to absorb at a rate of 70% or greater. The result is often more consistent color and less pollution. As for the claim that natural dyes are softer...in some cases this is true, but synthetic dyes have come a long way and many are almost undistinguishable from the natural based counter parts.

Can your upholstery be slip covered? top

Yes all of our upholstery frames are available with slipcover as an option. We can also order a slipcover only if you wish to have an additional cover to quickly change the look of a room.

Do you do commercial work? top

Yes we do. Several of our lines (rugs and furnitue) have been tested for suitable use in commercial environments. If you have a commercial job that you think we might be able to help you with, please contact Paul Baird.

Do I need a rug pad and if so what size should it be? top

Rug pads are highly recommended. Not only do they provide safety from slipping, the cushion helps to reduce abrasion which can wear a rug out prematurely.

    Do you install? top

Verde Home is not insured to handle in home installation but we are happy to arrange to have just about anything installed for you. Locally we work with a great in home delivery service which is very reasonably priced.

Will you sell off the floor? top

We have a great number of one of a kind pieces that can be purchased off the floor. From time to time we will also sell samples off the floor. If you would like to be notified of these sales as they happen please sign up for our newsletter.

    Is shipping included? top

Unfortunately no. At the time of order we will estimate the cost of shipping your order.

Do I have to select from your fabric samples or can I find my own fabric to cover the upholstery? top

We have many fabric options to choose from and we are increasing our selection monthly. However, if we do not have what you are looking for you are welcome to find a fabric on your own. We will send your selection along to our producer and have you piece made to look exactly as you want it.

What are standard rug sizes? top

Handwoven rugs are most often woven in 6 standard sizes for the US market. Those sizes are 4x6, 5x7, 6x9, 8x10, 9x12, and 10x14. Most rugs over 10 feet wide will be considered oversized.
